A Nobel win

Barack Obama is the 97th individual to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".
In a time where the entire global economy face challenges, it is almost certain that Mr Obama will be a protagonist in the story of our road to recovery. And in less than a year of his presidency he has been awarded.

The Nobel Peace Prize is part of a collection of prizes, funded by the will of Alfred Nobel, whom invented dynamite. Thus since 1901, his great fortune has been pledged to the betterment of humanity, and awarded every year.

Nelson Mandela was awarded the prize in 1993, whilst 39th President Jimmy Carter was awarded in 2002. The other Nobel Prizes are awarded in Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature and Economics.
